Ramachandra Guha is an Indian historian, environmentalist, writer and public intellectual.

He was born 29 April 1958 in Dehradun.

His research interests include social, political, contemporary, environmental, economical and cricket history.

He has produced major books of modern India's socio-political history.

He has taught at various universities around the world.

Guha’s books and essays have been translated into more than twenty languages.

In 2009, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan for services to literature and education.
