The beach is on the western side of Thiruvananthapuram and very near to Trivandrum International Airport. Shanghumugham beach is considered as the ‘Arattukadavu’ of Sri Ananthapadmanabhan. The sculpture of Sagarakanyaka - Mermaid by Kanayi Kunhiraman is an added attraction.
