Mananthavady is a municipality and taluk in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India. Mananthavady has been referred to as Hosenkadi in a dictum scribbled under a copper artefact found at the Ananthanathaswamy Temple at Varadoor. The dominant view on the etymology is that the word is derived from "Maane Eytha Vady". 

കേരളത്തിലെ വയനാട് ജില്ലയിലെ ഒരു നഗരമാണ് മാനന്തവാടി . നഗരസഭയുടെ അതിരുകൾ വടക്കുഭാഗത്ത് തിരുനെല്ലി പഞ്ചായത്തും, തെക്കും കിഴക്യ..ക്കും ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ കബനീനദിയും, പടിഞ്ഞാറുഭാഗത്ത് തവിഞ്ഞാൽ പഞ്ചായത്തുമാണ്. പുരാതനകാലത്ത് വയനാടിൻ്റെ ആസ്ഥാനമായിരുന്നു മാനന്തവാടി. ജൈനമതം ശക്തിയാർജ്ജിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലത്ത് അതിൻ്റെ സാംസ്കാരികാടയാളങ്ങളോടുകൂടിയ സ്ഥലനാമങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് തിരുനെല്ലി, മാനന്തവാടി, പനമരം, ബത്തേരി എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലെ ഓരോ പ്രദേശത്തിനും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
