പാലാ

Pala (also written as Palai) is a town and a municipality in Kerala, India. It is the headquarters of the Meenachil Taluk and the Pala Revenue Division.Pala is situated on the banks of the Meenachil river. It is one of the main gateways to the southern high ranges of the Western Ghats.

കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ കിഴക്കൻ മലയോര മേഖലയിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാന പട്ടണമാണ് പാലാ. മീനച്ചിൽ താലൂക്കിന്റെ ആസ്ഥാനമാണ് ഈ പട്ടണം. വളരെ ഫലഭൂയിഷ്ടമാണ്‌ ഈ പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ. മീനച്ചിൽ നദി ഈ പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മധ്യത്തിൽ കൂടി കിഴക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായി ഒഴുകുന്നു. നഗരകേന്ദ്രം നദിയുടെ വടക്കേ കരയിലാണ്. കരൂർ, ഭരണങ്ങാനം, മീനച്ചിൽ, മുത്തോലി എന്നീ പഞ്ചായത്തുകൾ പാലാ നഗരവുമായി അതിർത്തി പങ്കുവയ്ക്കുന്നു.
